How do missions stand?

This year St Columbans Mission Society celebrates its 90th year as a Catholic missionary organisation. In The Far East, March 1, 1930, Bishop Edward J Galvin wrote this letter to Columban missionaries. It indicates how dangerous and uncertain life was in China in the 1920s. (more)

The sun was shining full of promise

Fr Joe Ruys is an associate priest from Melbourne working with the Columban Fathers in Lima, Peru. In September 2007 he wrote about a young boy 15 years of age, who was quadraplegic.  (more)

The Columban Mission Institute Centres for Peace, Ecology and Justice and Christian-Muslim Relations in partnership with the City of Sydney will host a Public Forum on ‘Growing a Culture of Peace' in Sydney (flyer)
